Overview
This initiative equipped 60 young women in the Kumbungu District with practical skills in vegetable production, organic manure preparation, and sustainable farming practices through a partnership with Abanga Foods. The training focused on low-cost, climate-smart techniques that participants could immediately apply to improve food production and generate income.
Following the training, participants reported an increase in average monthly earnings from approximately GHS 170 to GHS 300. To date, 19 participants are actively engaged in vegetable farming, while 6 have established small businesses producing and selling organic packaged manure, creating additional livelihood opportunities within their communities. The project demonstrates how practical agricultural skills can support economic empowerment and sustainable local food systems.
